Bee's In ~LOVE~

Two of my friends were getting married and I couldn't think of a good present...

Soooo...

Recalling that Leon is always calling Zoua his Bee- I decide a painting of two bee's in love would be PERFECT!

To make it more than just a painting I decided to do a shadow box with a leaf as my canvas, and pressed flowers to accent it. So I started collecting flowers and leaves to press between books.

While waiting for those to be ready I went on to finalizing the concept of the image.

These are a few of the small water color images I did to get the concept down.

The crooked image is the photo that locked in my final idea :D!

Since the plan was to paint the image on a leaf, I drew the image out and used a light board to help me transfer my concept and get it placed right.

painting with acrylics on a leaf was really tricky, once it dried you had to leave it alone , because painting over that same spot caused the paint to peal up.

 My friends were blown away, and I was so happy that they loved it.

 To really get a feel for it though its got to be seen in a more three dimensional way, so check out the quick video I took of it ...

I still have two more large ivy leaves left, so I will be experimenting with the idea a bit more in the future:D!
