So its a Friday night and I decided to go back down memory lane and look at this blog. I am also bored and rendering out aTurntable of the first image in this post. Sooooo....There is a post in here that has my fist student reel from 2007 and I was so positive in it! It feels so much harder these days to think so progressively and positively about the things I am working on. Well here are some personal things I have worked on- some of which will NEVER make it to my Artstation. I hold to the idea of that old post though. I learned so much with all of these and became that much better of an artist for making them. Its a good reminder to just keep swimming :D
This was a 2 week art test- I was working full time as well- I HATE the idea of art test. But it was really great seeing what I could pull off in such limited time. The hair is so bad, but it also only took me about 6 hrs and there is even a stubble cap. Its sorta a likeness of Tomothy Dalton. I am working on updating it as well want to present the updated version in UE5 later this year.
And then we have Reaper 2.0 I LOVE her so much, and it was my first time using substance painter and learning games character workflow. I really want to update it and well finish it. I dont think that is ever to be though, sometimes its better to move on to the next thing.
Then there are these... That one on the left- WOW its so bad it will only ever be here(and probably shouldn't be at that). The middle one NOBODY liked the pants- They are exactly what I was going for though. Ehh... Anyways it has so much very detailed stuff in it that would make him as a whole a great portfolio piece. I modeled 10 different grenades for his bomb bag too. Though... I think my time is better spent refining stuff for my portfolio that reflects what I would enjoy doing EVERY day and realistic military gear that is a direct copy of life doesn't really fall into that group.
Anyways, thanks for reading I guess... Hi future self :P
You will only get there if ya ...
Just keep swimming :D
